The Power of People in the Age of AI

When you run a service-led business, it’s easy to get swept up in day-to-day delivery—juggling client projects, managing the team, and chasing the next deadline. But the first week of June gave me a rare pause: a number of in person events allowed me to reflect on why we do what we do.

Two events, in particular, reminded me that even in a world shaped by AI, process automation, and digital transformation, the real power still lies with people.

Going for Growth: A Journey of Shared Ambition

Back in January, I walked into Dublin’s Marker Hotel not quite sure what to expect. I had been accepted to join Going for Growth, a six-month programme for female founders, brought to life by the incredible Paula Fitzsimons and my table was to be expertly led by the brilliant Fidelma McGuirk.

From the very first session, it was clear that this was something special. Paula’s vision—to create a space where women founders could learn with and from one another—has truly transformed the landscape for female entrepreneurship in Ireland. Her attention to detail, unwavering support, and belief in the power of shared experience created an environment that felt both empowering and safe.

Over the months, through in-person round-table sessions, our group of nine tackled real-world challenges, supported each other’s growth, and celebrated each other’s wins. Fidelma’s leadership brought clarity and vision, but it was the openness and generosity of the group that made it truly unique.

Each session felt like a gentle blend of shared wisdom, thoughtful problem-solving, and the kind of laughter that only comes from real connection.

I can’t thank Fidelma, Paula, and the wider Going for Growth team enough for welcoming me into this programme—and for creating such a powerful platform for growth. A huge thank you also to the programme sponsors, KPMG and Enterprise Ireland, for their support in making this possible.

It wasn’t just a business programme. It was a rare opportunity to step outside the day-to-day and grow alongside women who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

The Krisolis Alumni Event: Celebrating Community

Inspired by the spirit of Going for Growth, we launched our own community initiative: Krisolis Alumni. Our inaugural event took place that very same week, and it was a truly special moment for us. We welcomed back past course participants, workshop attendees, and project partners—many of whom have been part of our journey over the years.

The idea is simple: to create a space where those who’ve learned with us can connect, share how AI is shaping their journeys, and spark new ideas and collaborations. It was a joy to see familiar faces swapping stories, rekindling connections, and supporting each other’s next steps. We were especially proud to celebrate the latest graduates of our AI Certification Programme, who’s achievements we celebrated on the day.

If our Krisolis Alumni community delivers half the impact and support to our members as the Going for Growth network, we’ll be in a very good place. We’re excited to continue building this space—one where knowledge, curiosity, and community come together—and we’re already looking forward to future alumni events.

Because learning doesn’t end with a course, it grows with community.

Five Human Superpowers Algorithms Can’t Replicate

Both events underscored five qualities that no model, no matter how advanced, can duplicate:

  1. Community – finding your tribe and building something bigger together.
  2. Empathy – listening, understanding, and showing up for one another.
  3. Mentorship – lighting the path for those a step or two behind, and learning from those ahead.
  4. Laughter – the universal connector and pressure-release valve.
  5. Critical Thinking – asking the right questions and staying endlessly curious.

People: The Original Disruptors

AI is transforming how we work, live, and think—but it’s people who spark revolutions, build trust, and turn ideas into action. Last week was a vivid reminder that while technology is the amplifier; humans are still the drivers.

Here’s to keeping the human heart at the centre of every innovation. Let’s never forget the power of people.
